Surviving and Thriving | Devlog #3


Welcome to the third devlog of The Aftermath- Wasteland. The past week has been the busiest in terms of development work. A couple of essential features have been implemented and we are excited to share them here. So let’s get right into it.

Crafting System

Remember the collectibles that you could previously collect and store in your inventory? Well, it’s time to put it to good use. We have implemented a crafting system for the player’s base, where the player and their friends can craft a tent and add resources to it in a cooperative manner. Running low on few of the ingredients? Well, ask your buddy to lend you a helping hand!

New Weapon Alert: Assault Rifle

The Wasteland is dark and full of terrors, and you need a weapon to fight these terrors. In a post-apocalyptic world, the second amendment is a rule of thumb. And to honour this, we have added a futuristic Assault Rifle as a new weapon of choice for the survivors of the Wasteland. So gear up and get ready for combat.

Combat System

Speaking of combat, it’s time to introduce the first terror of the Wasteland, “The Infected”! These unholy creatures are a result of a mutative virus that came riding along on the comet. So take your assault rifle and help end their suffering. Warning: This could get gory and violent. But again, Wasteland was never meant for the weak-hearted!

What’s Next?

With a majority of the systems already in place, it’s time to introduce a few missions. The plan is to implement two side missions, “Locate the Missing Scientist” and “Deliver a Package”. For time being, we will be proceeding with implementing the latter and if time permits, we will implement the other one as well.
